Klezmer Dance Workshop and Concert

Thunder, lightning and hard rain did not deter a small but enthusiastic group of people from gathering at the pavilion at the James W. Ollie Park in the village of Walden for a Yiddish dance workshop and Klezmer concert. As the group learned simple dance steps, led by Judy Sweet, a professional music education and dance leader on staff at Yiddish New York, the skies cleared and the sun came out.

Purim

Purim is a time to REJOICE. to GIVE and to SHARE. Our annual Purim fundraiser which is based on Mishloach Manot, is prepared and assembled by congregation members. Mishloach Manot are gifts of food that Jews send to each other during the holiday of Purim. "Mishloach Manot" literally means the "sending of portions" in Hebrew and this mitzvah is meant to ensure that everyone has enough food to enjoy the traditional Purim feast. For Congregation Beth Hillel, it also means that as one big family, we want to share the joy with everyone.
